I love talking to people. The more I do, the more I realize just how much we all have in common.
Yes, we come from different cultures, backgrounds, and beliefs. Some of us have more, some have less. We live different lives, hold different dreams, and carry different stories. But underneath all of that, we’re more alike than we often realize.
We all face fear. We all carry uncertainty. We all wrestle with insecurity, question our worth, and wonder if we’re getting it “right.”
We all have days when we feel small.
We all have nights when we feel alone.
And every single one of us has a story worth sharing.
Many of us don’t share them. We hide behind smiles, behind busyness, behind “I’m fine.”
We cover our pain with productivity and tuck our truth behind a mask.
Yet the very stories we hide are often the ones that would bring the most connection.
What if we admitted we don’t have it all together all the time?
What if we let people in, not just when we’re shining, but when we’re struggling?
What if I told you there were nights I locked myself in the bathroom, sat on the shower floor, and let the running water wash my tears away?
Mornings I couldn’t bring myself to get out of bed?
Days I questioned my very existence?
If you’re struggling right now, please know you don’t have to do it alone. Talk to someone. You matter.
Maybe we’d feel less alone.
Maybe we’d find healing in someone else’s “me too.”
I believe that the more we tell the truth, the messy, beautiful, unfiltered truth, the more we make room for compassion, connection, and community.
Your story matters. Not just the polished parts.
All of it.
Maybe sharing it will be the very thing that gives someone else the courage to share theirs, too.
You don’t have to share your story on a stage, or online, or with everyone you know. Maybe it starts in your journal. Maybe it starts in a quiet conversation with someone who sees you. But sharing it, somewhere, matters.
Because while sharing your story can absolutely connect you to others, sometimes the most powerful connection is the one you restore with yourself.
The power isn’t in how many people hear it.
The power is in the release.
In letting it leave your mind and land on the page.
In finally letting it exist outside of you.
Because once it’s out, it can’t haunt you the same way.
And that? That’s where healing begins.
Is there a part of your story you’ve kept tucked away out of fear, shame, or vulnerability?
What would it feel like to share it, and find out you’re not alone?
Journal Prompt
What part of your story have you kept tucked away, and what would it feel like to let it breathe on the page, even if no one else ever sees it?
Positive Affirmation
My story matters. All of it. Even the parts I’m still learning how to love.
